The line at Macy's was into the HR Department (which gave Erin flashbacks of training to be an elf) but didn't reach into the furthest reaches of the store - the wait to get to see Santa was about an hour. It passed pleasantly enough and there was no crying or whining - at least that I can remember. We prepped Adrian for the big moment as best we could, but he clammed up and was barely able to get out his holiday request for sunglasses (yes, sunglasses).

Adrian's first haircut

Adrian's hair was becoming unmanageable. The tangles in the back were causing him and Erin a lot of pain, and the curls were getting out of control. We tried to get him used to the idea of a haircut weeks before, watching daddy get his (long overdue) haircut. And daddy again got his hair cut right before these photos were taken (some might say that daddy's hair was just getting to a reasonable length, but whatever . . . ).

Our new local barber shop seems to be run by two nice Russian ladies. Funny for an Italian neighborhood.

The Queens County Farm Museum is neither a museum nor a farm. It is a combination petting zoo and place to buy overpriced produce. We did not pay 3 dollars to feed farm animals, nor did we buy an overpriced pumpkin or pay to decorate it. We did however take two trains and a bus totaling almost two hours in transit time each way to take these pictures. Enjoy!

Anya's pool party was a few weeks ago, but in typical Weber style we're just now getting the photos up (I actually only just remembered they were on the camera as I was looking at the photos from Dylan's birthday party today)>

Needless to say I didn't get a chance to put the swim outfit on. I turned around and he was in the water.

So, Adrian is pulling himself to stand and almost standing without help. Its even money if he'll crawl first or walk first. We can't turn our back on him for very long: he gets into everything. He seems to be fascinated by very small things: bits of fuzz, grains of sand or dirt, little bumps on the wall.

This Ottoman that he's balancing on is his climbing gym. He's up there every chance he can get.

I turned around for a minute and he was under the table, standing up. We've seen him trying to climb our bookshelf, but we're too afraid of Child Protective Services to put those pictures up.

Only the best Chinese food in the world!

Aaron Zimmerman (Erin's boss - I know it creates confusion all the time) had his birthday get-together at our favorite Chinese place in New York. We took Adrian along, well, because we had to and we wanted to!

Here's some of the food outside our private room in the bussing tray! The service was almost adequate - we almost got the water we ordered. We never did get the glasses. But we did get several 6-packs of Tsing Tao put on the table and opened!

Here's the aftermath at our table. We could have ordered more food, but I think we would have needed an ambulance.

Brighton Beach - Did I mention how we wanted to take some pictures at the beach, but Adrian slept the whole way there and the whole way back? We're beginning to suspect that he thinks we never take him anywhere. He only seems to be awake at the apartment. Erin is not asleep in this picture. She's just resting her eyes.

This is a picture of the fireworks that Adrian slept through. Erin thinks that pictures of fireworks are lame. I took this picture from the balcony of our friends in Jersey City of the fireworks display in the Hudson river - probably 20 miles away. Lame.

Yes, I've had to go back to work. And while that might mean great things for the Food Coop, it doesn't really leave much time for uploading cute pictures of Adrian. Wait no longer dear reader!

Adrian loves his mobile! He actually loved looking at the skeleton of the mobile before Erin hung the owls (see below) on in, but we think he likes the owls even more.

We had our first walking only outing to Prospect Park on Monday and we sat here on this park bench overlooking the lake watching turtles sunning themselves, Canadian geese fighting, sparrows flitting about, squirrels running hither and yon and a parade of Brooklyn folks right out of central casting. Just a few of the highlights were: the young Israeli kids talking loudly on cel phones about (probably) buying drugs, the gruff old Russian man reading the paper, the Latino bike gang, and (my favorite!) the old Muslim fisherman with his homemade fishing rod.

We love Brooklyn!

Freezer Guy!

Park Slope Food Coop's own Freezer Guy stopped by with some delicious chili and a hankerin' to hold a baby!

Adrian was excited to meet Caleb and the feeling seemed to be mutual. Adrian had just gotten some new jammies and was excited to try those on as well.

Caleb, you'll be happy to know that we froze a bunch of that chili and we'll be enjoying it all summer long (I don't mean it like that).

On the "Q" train no less. Erin, wearing her clothing swap jacket she got last week, Adrian and I went to Chinatown to have some blood drawn: the only lab open on a Sunday. Adrian was a champ and didn't cry at all during the draw. The technician said "the boys love the titties." We weren't sure what to make of this, but bought pork buns down the street. Good times.

Wesley has been suspicious for weeks. There's a certain level of paranoia that is well justified. Adrian smells like danger. Or dinner - I'm not sure, but every time Wesley gets a sniff he runs off at full speed, heading for the furthest place in the apartment to hide.

When we got home today from the Botanic Garden, he jumped up in Erin's lap, thinking perhaps that we had left Adrian outside somewhere. When he found out that we hadn't abandoned our infant son, he slunk off to the living room to pout into his litter box.

Some kind stranger took this picture of us in the desert room in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden today. We became members of the garden as well, so we'll be there more often, teaching Adrian about horticultural etiquette - like when its OK to pick fruit off the trees (when the security guards aren't looking of course!) and how to avoid curious little old ladies how want to coo and point at newborn babies.

Evidently we brought the sunshine with us to the garden, and although it started pouring almost as soon as we got home, the sound of the rain provided the perfect soundtrack to our family nap-time.

After a long night of laboring in the living room, Erin returned back to our bed, only to be disturbed by me and the new Canon G10. We went for a walk and picked up some nice finds at the Sycamore Clothing swap (where I managed to get rid of two shirts that are far too large to fit me).
